The Food Vulnerability Assessment Training Course is intended to prevent and deter terrorist acts targeting the food sectors by teaching communities and industry to assess vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies to harden vulnerable targets. Participants will learn how to assess vulnerabilities for food facilities on a community-wide basis and assess vulnerabilities within food systems, as well as individual facilities, and identify and implement possible mitigation measures to reduce vulnerabilities. Suggested participants for this course is the food industry, officials at the federal, state and county levels, as well as others involved in food security.

These special events to promote healthy eating will take place from noon to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 14 and Saturday, July 12 at the Hilo Farmers Market, and on Sunday, June 22 and Sunday, July 27 at the Maku‘u Farmers Market in Puna.
