KAMUELA, Hawai‘i—November 26, 2014—Citizen Science is a volunteer program to monitor and track environmental conditions at Kahalu‘u Bay. Anyone with an interest in learning about water quality, sampling, data interpretation, and a healthier environment can be a volunteer—no previous experience or scientific knowledge is required. Training is provided by Kahalu‘u Bay Education Center (KBEC).

KAILUA-KONA, Hawai‘i—January 29, 2013—A community cleanup day for Kahalu‘u Beach Park that was postponed due to high surf has been rescheduled for Saturday, February 2. The new event now includes two volunteer opportunities: a project to repair the rock wall surrounding the onsite fishpond from 8 a.m. to noon and the cleanup of the beach area from 10 a.m. to noon.
