Dr. Jeff Tomberlin from Texas A&M University is a pioneer looking into the possibility that black soldier fly larvae -- "grubs" to the uninitiated -- could be used to turn organic wastes into high-protein animal feeds. Tomberlin believes the use of black soldier fly larvae should be well adapted for small- and medium-size livestock producers.
Join us as we explore key issues in cooperative governance, including how it differs from other organizational models. The webinar will also cover hot topics in cooperative governance, such as maintaining a strong democracy as a cooperative grows and evolves, member engagement and expectations of the governance process, board development and assessment trends, accountability and the board’s role in strategic leadership.

Please join us for a Garden Workday at Mala?ai! We will be installing roofing on our old chicken coop, turning it into storage. We are also installing irrigation in some of the perimeter berms, hauling some items to the dump, and generally freshening up the garden. We could use some volunteer help with this as we get ready for summer. Please bring a dish to share for a potluck lunch to follow and your own utensils to make it "green." No need to bring garden tools or equipment, but bring your raincoat and water bottle. If you have any questions, please contact our Garden Leader, Holly Sargeant-Green, at hols.green@gmail.com. Mahalo for making time to volunteer at our mala!
