February 29, 2020—A day-long journey featuring classroom instruction and hands-on, in-field experience. Featuring Glenn Teves, Assistant Extension Agent, CTAHR / UH Mānoa; Jay Bost, Farm Coach and Site Manager, GoFarm Hawai‘i; and Melanie Willich, Ph.D., Director of Applied ‘Āina-Based Agriculture, The Kohala Center.

  • Learn about locally grown and adapted seed
  • Discover the benefits of open-pollinated varieties and agrobiodiversity
  • Participate in a seed-saving workshop
  • Explore The Kohala Center’s demonstration farm
  • Meet members of the Hawai‘i Seed Growers Network
  • Learn how to become a seed grower and conduct successful variety trials
