March 16–20, 2020—Our Ōhāhā intersession programs help high school students deepen kinship with ‘āina and local agriculture through ‘ike that will also help them flourish in life. Participants will:
- Learn from ‘āina and kūpuna, and engage in service learning
- Work on a farm and in lo‘i kalo (taro patch)
- Engage with a broad range of Hawaiian cultural protocols and sustainable agriculture practices
- Discover educational and career opportunities in agriculture to improve food security
- Gain deeper understanding of fulfilling kuleana to ‘āina, ‘ohana, and lāhui
- Receive a gift card worth up to $125 for successfully completing the one-week program and take home plants to grow in their gardens (or start one)!
