FSA Farm Assistance Programs
Disaster Assistance Programs
The Farm Service Agency assists with natural disaster losses resulting from drought, flood, fire, freeze, tornadoes, pest infestation, and other calamities.
Emergency Conservation Program
ECP provides up to 75% cost-share for rehabilitating land damaged by natural disasters, water conservation measures, and water source improvements during drought.
Noninsured Crop Disaster Assistance Program
NAP provides financial assistance to producers of non-insurable crops when low yields, loss of inventory, or prevented planting occur due to natural disasters.
Livestock Forage Loss Program
LIP provides financial assistance to producers who suffered grazing losses due to drought or fire that operate on federally managed lands.
Emergency Assistance for Honeybees, Livestock, and Farm-Raised Fish
ELAP provides financial assistance to eligible producers of livestock, honeybees and farm-raised fish for losses due to disease, certain adverse weather events or loss conditions, including blizzards and wildfires.
Tree Assistance Program
TAP provides financial assistance to qualifying orchardists to replace eligible trees, bushes, and vines damaged by natural disasters.
Conservation Programs
FSA oversees some voluntary conservation-related programs. These programs work to address a large number of farming and ranching-related conservation issues.
Conservation Reserve Program
In exchange for a yearly rental payment, farmers enrolled in the program agree to remove environmentally sensitive land from agricultural production and plant species that will improve environmental health.
Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program
In exchange for removing environmentally sensitive land from production and establishing permanent resource conserving plant species, farmers and ranchers are paid an annual rental rate along with other federal and state incentives as applicable per each CREP agreement.
Reimbursement Transportation Cost Payment Program
RTCP can reimburse geographically disadvantaged farmers and ranchers with a portion of the cost to transport agricultural commodities or inputs used to produce an agricultural commodity.
