Moloka‘i Workshop
August 24-25, 2012
The Hawai‘i Public Seed Initiative held the fourth of its five-island, 2-day Seed workshops at the Lanikeha Center in Ho‘olehua with a tour of the NRCS Plant Materials Center to tour their seed production farm and seed processing facility. A beautiful lunch of locally sourced produce was catered by Jamie Ronzello of Barking Deer Farm and Carol Harms. This workshop was designed to create a practical working knowledge of seed growing, botany and biology, selection, harvesting, cleaning, and saving of various types of seed.
The Big Island will host a similar workshop on November 3-4, 2012 with a seed exchange on Friday, November 2, 2012. Find out more.
