  • seeking to be on The Kohala Center’s newsletter list;
  • making contributions to The Kohala Center;
  • enrolling in The Kohala Center’s events; or
  • attending The Kohala Center’s programs

is shared with or sold to other organizations or individuals. All such information is strictly confidential unless explicitly specified.

All confidential information, such as those listed above, must be stored in secure, private, password-protected servers managed by The Kohala Center or its contracted service providers (e.g., credit card payment processors, newsletter service, event registration/management service, etc.).

The Kohala Center periodically uses Mailchimp to disseminate newsletters, bulletins, and event announcements via email. What information do we collect?
We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form, or make a donation. When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your: name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or credit card information. We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information (credit cards, social security numbers, financials, etc.) will not be stored on our servers.

Do we use cookies?
The Kohala Center’s website at kohalacenter.org is built using the WordPress content management system, which does use cookies and may place cookies in your browser. The Kohala Center and its affiliated programs, however, do not actively review, mine, or archive visitor data that could be gleaned by the use of cookies. Cookies may, in the future, streamline visitor interactions on our website as new features are incorporated (e.g., would allow a user to bypass re-acceptance of Terms and Conditions on subsequent visits to particular site features).
