October 17, 2015—Bring seeds and a dish if can, or just come talk story with fellow farmers and gardeners and take home catalogs and seeds from Johnny’s Seeds, Baker Creek, and Territorial Seed. Please respect our NO SOIL policy to reduce potential transport of invasive species such as the Little Fire Ant.

October 28, 2015—Join us in our joyful work to reforest a slice of the Kohala watershed with native trees and shrubs. We will be planting in the Koia'a Corridor restoration area, adding hundreds more baby trees to the ongoing efforts. We will be planting pilo, mamane, kolea, and a'ali'i, all grown from Kohala seed by the KWP crew here in Waimea.

Wholesale Success Workshops for Vegetable and Fruit Growers (Waimea, Hawai‘i Island)
November 3–4, 2016—The Kohala Center is offering two-day workshops on Hawai‘i Island, Maui, and Moloka‘i that will train new and seasoned fruit and vegetable growers to meet food safety standards and the needs of wholesale markets.

Note these important details listed below. In addition to the Exchange, there will be a number of exciting activities and opportunities to learn more about island backyard gardening and food production. There will be workshops on Chickens, Beekeeping, Kalo, as well as childrens' activities and a localvore potluck at noon. An added bonus is a native plant sale and a fruit tree giveaway.
