September 13, 2015—We have a ton of keiki trees just waiting to be planted! Due to the abundance of rainfall lately, it’s the ideal time to do more planting in the makai Pelekane Bay watershed. Last week, the volunteer team planted over 580 trees in just a few hours...can we beat that this time? Let’s find out!

Meet at The Kohala Center (65-1291A Kawaihae Rd) at 11 a.m., and we will carpool to the work site. Bring along a sack lunch and water bottle, and wear boots or sturdy shoes. We will provide tools, gloves, plants, snacks, and extra drinking water. We will finish up and return to Waimea by 4:30 p.m.

It can get really hot and the terrain is steep, but the work is otherwise appropriate for people of all ages and abilities, so bring along keiki, friends, and neighbors. Please click here to RSVP by Thursday, September 10.
