January 5–8, 2015—The Kohala Center, in conjunction with Kealapono, LLC, is holding listening sessions in the Hamakua district between January 5 and 8 to explore the need for Internet services at broadband speeds in the area.
Representatives will share aspects of the Hawai’i Island Broadband Project and gather community input and feedback.
Three sessions are scheduled with each session focusing on a segment of the Hamakua community:
• Monday, January 5: Pa‘auilo – Kalopa
• Wednesday, January 7: Honoka‘a – Ahualoa
• Thursday, January 8: Kukuihaele – Waipi‘o Valley
All three sessions will be held at the North Hawai‘i Education and Research Center (NHERC) Pavilion from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The public is encouraged to attend the session focusing on the area of the Hamakua district where they live or work.
The Kohala Center’s Hawai‘i Island Broadband Project is funded by the Hawai‘i County Research and Development department in cooperation with the state of Hawai‘i Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.
