December 6, 2014—Join us in planting native trees on Kohala Mountain. Recent wet weather is perfect for our babies as we pack native soil around their roots and send them on their way to grow into a forest. Saturday will be a great day to come out and work with your family, neighbors, and friends. Lots of baby trees to “set free,” including koai‘a, mamane, ‘a‘ali‘i and hō‘awa.
We will meet at The Kohala Center office (65-1291A Kawaihae Rd) at 8:30, and travel by KWP 4×4 vehicles to the planting site. We will work through the morning, then break for lunch, and return to town around 1:30.
Bring a lunch and water bottle, and wear long pants, boots or sturdy shoes, and dress for potentially cold, wet weather. We will supply gloves, tools, plants, snacks, and drinking water.
Click here to RSVP by Thursday, December 4th.
