June 4–8, 2018—Hey high school students! Deepen your connection with ‘āina in our one-week Sustainable Agriculture program!
- Work in a lo‘i kalo (taro patch) and a loko i‘a (Hawaiian fishpond)
- Learn how Kānaka ‘Ōiwi (Native Hawaiians) grew enough food to sustain a nation
- Gain hands-on experience with a variety of sustainable farming methods
- Discover educational and career opportunities in agriculture to improve food security
Receive a gift card worth up to $125 for successfully completing the one-week program and take home plants to grow in your garden (or start one)!
Programs run weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with each day starting and ending at our Demonstration Farm in Honoka‘a. Free shuttle service will be offered from/to Laupāhoehoe Community Public Charter School, leaving at 7:30 a.m. and returning by 4:30 p.m.
