July 11–22, 2016—Hey high school students and recent grads! Want to learn how to grow your own food, take field trips to Hawai‘i Island farms and ranches, experience traditional Hawaiian land management systems, and get PAID for it? Apply for our two-week Sustainable Agriculture internships this summer, in which the ‘āina is your classroom!
- Visit and work on local, sustainable, and organic farms
- Harvest and make your own ‘ono grinds
- Take home plants to start your own garden
- Tour an ahupua‘a from mauka to makai
- Take field trips to wahi pana (sacred places) like Waipi‘o Valley
- Explore careers in sustainable agriculture
- Meet students from other schools
- Earn a stipend for successfully completing the program
Upcoming sessions:
- Summer 2016 Session 1 (two weeks): June 6–17
- Summer 2016 Session 2 (two weeks): July 11–22
Two-week summer sessions pay $250. Internships run weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with each day starting and ending at our Demonstration Farm in Honoka‘a.
