- February 23, 2013: Cooking From Our Island Garden. Featuring Chef Maria Peterson and Chef Dan Bobo with his wife Clare. Come to Mala‘ai to harvest and cook from the garden. Tastings will be offered a wonderful opportunity to learn how to make some yummy food straight from your garden or the Farmer’s Market.
- March 16, 2013: Worm Composting for Delicious Home Produce. Join us for an educational look at vermiculture (worm composting). It’s easy and fun and this simple activity will help you grow dream vegetables!
- April 20, 2013: Herb Gardening Basics. Come and learn from Amanda Rieux, Mala?ai’s Program Director, about how to grow both classic and traditional Hawaiian herbs. Growing herbs is easy and nothing enhances your cooking like freshly harvested herbs!
- May 18, 2013: Garden Tour of Waimea. Explore from the “wet side” to the “dry side” and be inspired by what is possible in your own backyard! Meet at Mala‘ai and then caravan around town.
