Decolonizing Our Diets: Returning to Our Roots

April 29, 2015—Join us for a seed-themed dinner to share seeds and knowledge. Meet others who support seed saving and sharing in our community. Join the movement to save local seeds. Join the network of local seed sharers. Bring seeds to share if you have them…or ideas and questions about seed saving if you don’t. RSVP required: kodom@kkv.net.

Gaye Chan – Eating in Public
As a conceptual artist, Gaye uses creative ways to empower people to malama each other and the land. Among other public projects, she has established Seed Sharing stations as a free public method for exchanging seeds in neighborhoods and public spaces.

Ann Tanaka – Urban Gardener
A volunteer at Pearl City urban garden under the Master Gardener program, Ann shares information about seed saving and seed sharing practices with her community and volunteers that come to their aina.

Hector Valenzuela – University of Hawaii
As a Vegetable Crops Extension Specialist for UH Manoa, Hector develops educational programs to assist commercial vegetable crop farmers in the state. Hector is an active advocate for food sovereignty and local control of our seeds.
