Attention Hawai‘i Island high school students! Gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and learn about island food systems in this week-long program. Visit and work on farms and enjoy the great outdoors—the ‘āina is your classroom!
- Earn a stipend for the time you work on a farm
- Take field trips to island farms, processors, and wholesalers
- Meet and hear from agricultural leaders
There will be two separate two-week internship programs this summer:
- June 16-27, 2014 (Application Deadline: June 11)
- July 14-25, 2014 (Application Deadline: July 9)
Each day begins and ends at The Kohala Center’s Ka Hua ‘Āina training farm in Honoka‘a, with daily field trips to working farms and agricultural facilities across Hawai‘i Island.
