East Side Seed Exchange and Harvest Festival
Date: Saturday, September 21, 2013
Time: 9:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m.
Location: La‘akea Permaculture Gardens, Pāhoa
Details: Bring your favorite dishes using only locally grown food for the third annual, 100-percent local food potluck! Attendees are encouraged, but not required, to bring seeds, plant cuttings and bare roots to exchange (please check for fire ants before bringing!). A panel discussion will focus on preparing and preserving the food we grow. Admission is free.

Organic Seed Alliance Celebrates 10 Years: Leading the Way in Organic Seed Innovation
Date: Saturday, October 26, 2013
Location: Northwest Maritime Center, Port Townsend, Washington
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Details: Please join us in celebrating and supporting OSA with a 10-year anniversary dinner and art show. Local food, live music, and art will make this an event not to miss! The evening will include a look at OSA's roots as Abundant Life Seed Foundation and the advancements we've made since our launch. Come sit side-by-side with our plant breeding partners, including the farmers who grew the food for our meal. After 10 years OSA has established itself as the leading organic seed institution in the U.S. We're proud of our accomplishments, and want to share our 10-year vision for the next generation of organic seed research, education, and advocacy. 11th Annual West Hawai'i Seed Exchange
Where: B.H. Amy Greenwell Garden - Captain Cook
When: Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2:30-6:00 p.m.
We invite the home gardening community of West Hawai‘i, students and their teachers saving seed in school gardens, and all visiting gardeners to attend the 10th Annual West Hawai’i Seed Exchange that has become a “tradition” at the Amy Greenwell Garden.
Come bring saved seed (seed, roots, huli, and cuttings) of food, medicine, flower, or native plants that do well in your home gardens and share your knowledge with your community! Please bring envelopes and a pen for your seed. Please I.D. the seed you bring with name, date collected, and place grown.
