ReefTeach and Makai Watch are enlisting volunteers at Waialea Bay (Beach 69) and Paniau Beach in Puakō. Help us educate visitors, swimmers, snorkelers, and divers on how to protect the delicate corals at these beaches and beyond. Healthy reefs are essential to the vitality and abundance of our marine life. Volunteers set their own schedules and spend time at the beach! What could be better?

Kahalu‘u Beach Clean-up

Details:
This urgent clean-up was scheduled to help remove debris, particularly rocks, from the beach and park that were kicked up during extremely high surf before Christmas. Check in at the Kahalu‘u Bay Education Center.

Kahalu‘u Beach Clean-up: Butts be gone!
Date: Saturday, September 7, 2013
Time: 9:00 a.m.—12:00 noon
Details: Join us for an end-of-summer beach clean-up focusing on getting cigarette butts off the beach. Cigarette smoking is illegal at the County Park, but people are still doing it. Gloves and trash bags will be provided. Starbucks will donate coffee and tea. Check in at the Kahalu‘u Bay Education Center.
