Director of Place-Based Educational Stewardship
(Waimea, Hawai‘i Island)

The Kohala Center is inviting applications for a new senior-level position responsible for the overall development and management of our growing Ke Kumu ‘Āina strategic initiatives with a special focus on the Kohala and West Hawai‘i regions. The position oversees our work ma uka ma kai (mountain to sea), including watershed restoration work on Kohala mountain, our education center at Kahalu‘u Bay, and our in-school K-12 ‘āina-based education programs throughout Hawai‘i Island.

This position reports to the CEO and must have a minimum of seven (7) years of experience designing, managing, and evaluating ‘āina-based programs and grants; master’s degree or equivalent with field-level experience as a practitioner preferred; a strong relationship to Hawai‘i and beginning-level proficiency in ‘ōlelo Hawai‘i required.
