Independent Research on the Kohala Ecosystem
Projects Included: Wetland Forest of Mauka Pu‘uki: Oxygen Levels and Water Weight in Sphagnum Moss, Clash of the Soil Qualities! Wetland Forest of Mauka Pu‘uki: Where is that Moss Growing? Comparing Chemical Compositions of Water in the Wetland Forests of Mauka Pu‘ukiStudents’ independent research experiments focused on various ecological characteristics that are unique to the Kohala ecosystem, including soil quality around native and invasive plant species, moss growth on different species of plants, and chemical components of water in the wetland forests of mauka (upland) Pu‘uki.
