The newest Mellon-Hawai‘i Doctoral and Postdoctoral Fellows typically convene on Hawai‘i Island in the autumn for “Induction Weekend,” to deliver scholarly presentations of their dissertations or book manuscripts, and to network with a panel of distinguished academic publishers. To mark the program’s fifth year, however, fellows and mentors from the first four years joined this year’s cohort for a weekend of presentations, networking, support, and celebration.

The Hawai‘i Island School Garden Network’s (HISGN) annual school learning garden symposium gives school garden teachers, classroom teachers, administrators, staff, volunteers, and interested community members from around the state a valuable opportunity to learn, share, network, and energize their programs.
